GammaCan International, Inc. (OTCBB: GCAN) is a publicly listed biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of safe and effective therapies to treat cancer and other disease. We are an Israeli-US company with headquarters in Kiryat Ono, near Tel Aviv, and offices in New York City.
Our innovative approach to treating cancer and other diseases is based on using intravenous immunoglobulin (IgG), a safe, non-toxic human plasma-based derived product that can be administered repeatedly. IgG-based therapies have been approved for the treatment of a number of immune deficiencies and autoimmune diseases for over 20 years. We are the first to use IgG to treat cancers.
Our lead program (VitiGam) is under development to treat late stage malignant melanoma (skin cancer). VitiGam is our second generation intravenous IgG product and a first-in-class anti-cancer immunotherapy. Our preclinical data suggest that VitiGam specifically targets metastatic melanoma cells.
Our first generation IgG product (GCAN 101) is in an open label phase II clinical trial in terminally ill cancer patients. The trial is enrolling skin, prostate and colon cancer patients who have failed all other treatment options and are on best supportive care. GCAN 101 has shown activity in melanomas and other solid tumors. We think that GCAN 101 exerts broad anti cancer effects through several mechanisms including the stimulation and/or release of NK cells, certain antibodies and cytokines including IL-12.
In summary, we anticipate treating cancer patients in two ways:
  • With VitiGam we aim to directly attack the cancer causing melanoma cells in patients with malignant melanoma.
  • With GCAN101 we aim to prevent the recurrence of cancers. is caused by single cells left in the body following surgery and/or chemotherapy. Metastasis of cancer cells is one of the key contributors to tumor recurrence
